Vision Park Board Moves Forward with Killarney Seniors Centre

Killarney Community Centre

Vision Vancouver’s Park Board is doing its part to support the construction of a new senior’s centre in southeast Vancouver. The new centre will be roughly 10,000 square feet and will be connected to Killarney Community Centre.  “Right now southeast Vancouver has over one third of all the seniors in the city,” said Vision Park Board Chair Raj Hundal. “The people in the area are in dire need of this centre,” While there have been pledges of financial support from both the provincial and federal governments, the Park Board’s motion to approve the use of its land is the first solid step towards making the dream a reality for many elderly residents.
