Mike Lombardi
Mike has more than 35 years’ experience as a passionate advocate within the BC education system. In 2008 he was elected to Vancouver School Board rounding out a life devoted to tireless education advocacy. Prior to being elected to the school board, Mike has worked as teacher, education leader, and a parent leader he has laboured to achieve conditions in the public school system to enable all students to succeed.
He has also provided educational leadership within the teaching profession as a member of the professional staff at the BC Teachers’ Federation, with eight of those years as the director of the Professional and Social Issues Division. He has a Masters degree from the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia.
Mike was born in Castelmezzano, a small hilltop town in the beautiful Basilicata Region of Italy. He came to Canada with his family in 1954, and has lived in Vancouver for more than forty years.
