Patti Bacchus
Born and raised in Vancouver, Patti Bacchus was elected to Vancouver School Board in 2008. She is a long-time public education advocate who has worked individually and with advocacy groups to support Vancouver’s public schools.
Patti has played key roles in successful campaigns to: lobby for province-wide school seismic upgrades; create effective emergency response plans for Vancouver public schools; reverse Vancouver school district plans to eliminate special education support worker positions; and establish a provincially funded centre to support students with Learning Disabilities
Patti has also served as the Vancouver District Parent Advisory Council representative to both the Vancouver Board of Education’s Educational Facilities Review and the district’s Emergency Preparedness and Planning Committee. She is also a member of the Board’s Special Education Advisory Committee as a representative of Vancouver Parents for Successful Inclusion.
Patti is married to Lee Bacchus and has a grown stepdaughter and two school-aged children.
